ABOUT RETREAT

It’s time to deepen your personal practice of mindfulness and self-compassion and also learn the five qualities of G.R.A.C.E. Generosity, Reflection, Acceptance, Compassion, and Equanimity by attending the “5-Day Silent Mindfulness & Self -Compassion Retreat” organized by the Adelaide Mindfulness. The natural environment of Phuket will nourish you and in particular the quiet and peaceful Garden Wing of Thanyapura.


BRIEF DESCRIPTION

This retreat will hand over you a chance to strengthen your ability to be present with yourself just as you are within the safe container of expert guidance by experienced retreat leaders, a skilled a kind-hearted retreat manager, and a compassionate community of fellow practitioners. 

This face to face workshop is to be held from 13th of October 2021 to 18th of October 2021 at Phuket, Thailand, Anywhere. The daily schedule will include guided and silent sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement, everyday sense and savour walking outdoors and teaching focused on applying mindfulness and self-compassion, in particular personal practice in daily life.

Adelaide Mindfulness is known as Tina, and Peter Gibson with a vision is to help out people to live courageous, compassionate and joyful lives. They believe every situation is workable, no matter how uncomfortable or stuck it may seem. They offer MSC programs in the 8-week and 5-day intensive format.

  • You will also be invited to practice noticing ‘what is here for you at this moment?’ Ongoing inquiry of what is present will be married in with the deepening into ‘what is needed at this moment?’ Therefore, building an understanding of being present to experience and the experiencer, holding both in kindness, connection and presence.  
  • The natural environment of Phuket will also nourish participants and in particular the quiet and peaceful Garden Wing of Thanyapura. They will have their restaurant away from the larger resort to assist in holding our retreat form. They will be further nurtured by three delicious meals each day.  
  • The daily schedule includes guided and silent sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement, everyday sense and savour walking outdoors and teaching focused on applying mindfulness and self-compassion, in particular personal practice in daily life. Individual and group inquiry sessions with teachers are included. 


ABOUT TEACHERS

TINA GIBSON

Tina is known as a skilled and heartfelt Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher. She brings years of experience facilitating MSC and Mindfulness programs and workshops. Tina believes that while she teaches MSC it remains alive and vibrant in the way it keeps teaching her as she shares MSC far and wide. She is continually learning and growing her understanding of her personal practice. A key to this is her ongoing practice within the community and regularly committing time to both attend and lead retreats herself.

SIRI CHANDLER

Siri is one of Southeast Asia’s most experienced mindfulness educators, training educators, parents, corporations, athletes, and students of all ages. Her genuineness, kindness and personal experience of the benefits of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction(MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) infuse her courses with a special personal touch.

PETE GIBSON

Pete is a trained MSC teacher, Counsellor, and NLP practitioner. He currently co-teaches MSC programs alongside Tina and facilitates a regular men’s group. Pete is a quietly spoken and caring listener, valuing the importance of connection via holding space for one’s self and others by nature. He has slowly transitioned from the building industry to counseling and teaching groups.
